About Us

Salt and light in our community

Moore Park Baptist Church is a Church that focuses on being a multi-generational community of Bible believing Christians. We are a family from all walks of life and do life together, learning more and seeking to become more like Christ each day whilst sharing the good news.

We believe in participation over perfection and seek to serve our local community and be a demonstration of salt and light throughout.

Our History

Moore Park Baptist Church started as a Sunday School under a house near to our current church in December 1957, as Taringa Baptist Church was looking at reaching the neighbourhoods of Indooroopilly and Chapel Hill. A little less than 12 months later, church services commenced in a tractor shed close by until the current church was developed in 1961.

Over the years, the church has expanded and fufilled its original purpose of ‘Making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ’ which it continues to do.

Mark Quick

Pastor

Pastor Mark, prefers to just be called Mark, responded to his calling to Moore Park Baptist Church in 2021. As the Pastor at Moore Park, he heads up the church’s spiritual leadership, along with the elders, as well the daily operations. Mark has a passion for his local community and hopes to lead Moore Park Baptist Church to be salt and light in the local community.

Having qualified as a Baptist Pastor in 2017, Mark had previously held a number of other occupations. Mark has worked in the probation service, the prison system, worked alongside high needs children as well as a high school teacher. Mark emigrated to Australia from the UK with his family in 2012, so forgive his accent.

Mark has been married to his wife, Lois, since 1990 and has three children, two sons-in-law and three fur-grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys cultivating his relationships with his family, often by beating them at Monopoly (again), watching England beat Australia in any sport and reading a good book.

Annabel Pritchard

Church Administrator

Annabel is our Church Administrator and began work with Pastor Mark in 2022. As our administrator, you’ll often find Annabel throughout the week at the Church helping put together resources for our congregation or helping Mark fix the printer. Annabel is an efficient and valued asset to our team and assists in all behind the scenes responsibilities of running our church.

Annabel recently returned from a six year stint in Perth, but before that, had been at Moore Park Baptist Church since 1998. As a dedicated member of our community, Annabel has been involved in a variety of our ministries such as playgroup, worship, young adults and young family groups before taking on the role of our Church Administrator.

Annabel attends Moore Park Baptist Church with her husband and three children. In her spare time she loves to spend quality time making memories with her family, taking part in lots of craft activities as well as playing with her puppy.
